The 310th Public Library of Huechuraba was visited by the prominent Children's Literature Cuban writer Pepe Pelayo who delighted 81 Basic Pedagogy, Differential education and pre-school teachers with his lecture and love for reading.
The activity is framed within the actions of the National Reading Plan of the Metropolitan Region, which aims to encourage reading through humor, developing a sense of humor, wit and creativity in children.
Besides that the event had the presence of Teresa Huneeus Alliende, Director of the National Council of Culture and Arts in the Metropolitan Region, the Director of Education of Huechuraba City Hall, René Muñoz Navarrete, and of the Head of the Library, Winston Alvarado Arenas and the Librarian, Gilda Zúñiga Ramírez.
It should be mentioned that Pepe Pelayo was born in Matanzas, Cuba, in 1952. He has been living in Chile for 13 years. He is an actor, comedian, screenwriter, theater director and expert in humor.
He is a member of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba and the International Association for Humor Studies. He has published short stories and humorous articles in various newspapers and magazines. He has won several prizes in literary contests. He is been largely experienced as an actor and humor screenwriter of theater plays, radio programs, cinema and TV. He was also founder and director of the renowned company, "The sign of Humor" in his homeland. Nowadays he is a reporter and gives courses and workshops on personal growth through Humor.
